Issaquah has become a town of divided politics. We have let ourselves be split into those who support the Chamber of Commerce, and those who support the environment. To change this culture we need to change our pattern: that either/or approach to every idea or project. It’s making good decisions less likely, more costly, and with sore feelings for moving ahead.I don’t want to fight for one or the other: I have three kids and a great wife who deserve both. I think I can bridge the divide between the environmental passion and economic reality of Issaquah. I’m equally passionate about both issues.
At least I can try.
My extensive background in finance has prepared me for helping Issaquah deal with the economic challenges of the next four years. I have experience in finance, lots of it. During these tough times, we need elected officials who fully understand finance and economics – people who can leverage assets and not be snowed by the numbers.
We can create a climate for progress and jobs – clean jobs – while protecting our beautiful natural surroundings through responsible growth. We owe it to those who live here or who will live here to make sure we get both sides of the equation right in the next four years.
I want to believe the best days for Issaquah are ahead of us – not behind us.
